Among the most important and spiritual holidays of the Jewish people, a special place belongs to Rosh HaShanah – the Jewish New Year – a symbol of renewal, purification, and hope for the future.
This holiday is not only the beginning of a new year on the calendar but also a time when one turns inward, re-embraces spiritual values, and reflects on mercy, kindness, and love toward others.
Rosh HaShanah is celebrated on the first and second days of the month of Tishrei according to the Jewish calendar. By tradition, on these days people gather in places of worship, in synagogues, pray to the sound of the shofar, and wish for a blessed, prosperous, and peaceful year ahead.
The festive table is adorned with symbolic foods – apples dipped in honey, dates, pomegranates, a fish head, and others. These foods express wishes for abundance, sweetness, success, and blessings.
On this meaningful occasion, we at the Azerbaijan Jewish Media Center sincerely congratulate all Jews around the world, members of Jewish communities, and wish everyone health, well-being, prosperity, peace, and happiness. May Rosh HaShanah – the year of new beginnings – bring you new hopes, successes, and lay the foundation for good deeds.
With wishes for strengthening the traditions of peaceful and tolerant coexistence of all peoples of the world, for friendship and mutual respect – Shanah Tovah Umetukah!
Happy New Year!
