The Azerbaijan Jewish Media Center (AJM) was invited to a meeting of Russian-speaking activists in Israeli socio-political life on 20 March 2025, which was held at the prestigious Leonardo Hotel in Ashdod.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the Russian-speaking community, as well as other individuals.
Noteworthy among the attendees were three Israeli ministers: These included Minister of National Infrastructure and Energy Eli Cohen, Minister of Communications Shlomo Karai, Minister of Ecology Edith Silman, Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana, and a number of Knesset members.

While the "Unity" forum under the Likud party was responsible for initiating the meeting, representatives from other parties also expressed their appreciation for the event, with their participation. Noteworthy among these was the prominent legal figure Yosef Ezra, the leader of the "Molodet" party.

The event was attended by numerous television journalists, politicians, public figures, and athletes, including five-time world and European champion Alexander Averbukh.

A notable highlight of the event was the presence of Pavel Elizarov, chairman of the All-Israeli Association of the Peoples of the Caucasus. The Azerbaijani House in Israel was represented by Nehemiah Shirin, who presided over the event as the head of honored guests.

Pavel Elizarov notably emphasised the necessity of fortifying the positions of recent repatriates within Israel's political sphere. This is particularly salient given the tendency of Russian-speaking deputies to align predominantly with opposition parties. However, it is acknowledged that their influence is most effective within coalitions.
Pavel Elizarov emphasised the necessity of unifying all Russian-speaking activists, irrespective of their political orientations, and addressed several issues.

Minister Eli Cohen, who recently signed a historic agreement with the Republic of Azerbaijan on gas production in Israeli territorial waters, emphasised in his speech, among other issues, how important it is to strengthen Israel's relations with Azerbaijan.
Vitaly Sosnitsky, who was instrumental in organising the meeting and is one of the primary architects of the "Birlik" forum, underscored the significance of the continuation of such events in order to bolster the influence of Russian-speaking activists within the domain of socio-political activity.
He also acknowledged the initial contribution of Igor Roytapel, head of the representative office of the Azerbaijani Jewish Media Center in Israel, to the creation of this forum.

The meeting was conducted in a conducive atmosphere and continued behind closed doors until late at night.
