The contract was signed with the Israeli company K.R.V Medical Group 2014 LTD. According to the State Procurement Portal, the tender was listed as a single-source procurement. In other words, no open tender competition was held for the service, and the contract was signed directly with the company, while the details were kept from the public.

The rental period will last from May 20, 2026, to May 20, 2027.

This is not the first contract between Azərkosmos and the company. In April 2025, within the framework of the “Azersky-2” project, a contract worth 2 million 248 thousand manats was signed with the same company for car and housing rental services. In May 2026, the agreement was extended for another year.

An interesting detail is that K.R.V Medical Group 2014 LTD is mainly known in Israel as a company operating in the field of medical tourism.

The health insurance of Azərkosmos staff in Israel is provided by DavidShield Life Insurance Agency (2000) LTD. For the years 2025–2026, a health insurance contract worth 195.5 million manats was signed with this company.

These expenditures are being made within the context of the “Azersky-2” project. The project is being implemented jointly by Azərkosmos and Israel Aerospace Industries. According to the agreement signed in October 2023, the program предусматривает the development of high-resolution electro-optical observation satellites.

The first satellite is expected to be produced in Israel, while the second will be manufactured in Azerbaijan. The satellites are planned to be launched into orbit in 2026 and 2028.

According to reports published in the Israeli media, the contract for these satellites, described as intelligence-oriented, is valued at 120 million US dollars.

Established in 2010 as a satellite operator, Azərkosmos generates most of its revenues from the state budget. The company’s revenues from satellite services do not fully cover its expenses. According to its 2024 financial report, the total losses of Azərkosmos reached 380 million manats.
